STUMP THE FRAMER??

Look and see how Celia has risen to the challenges!
A customer brought in their treasure of beautifully hand worked KIMONOS and FABREGE EGGS petit point.

Challenge #1  Can you cut mats in the shape of the needleworks?!!
5 of EACH with multiple openings in two separate mats to end up with both mats fitting into the SAME size frames??!!

YES. with double mats to boot!
(oh, did I say each piece was hand stretched and pinned)

CHALLENGE #2
Fire damaged hammered metal?
A customer brought in 2 panels of brass on which  his dear
great-grandmother
had done "repousse" work.

Repoussé  is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side. (wikipedia)

Sadly, they lost their home in a fire. And what do you suppose survived??
Like the pheonix rising from the ashes the two panel which had been stacked were found!
BUT, The top panel exposed to the heat and water lost it's beautiful patina.

NOW LOOK!

perfectly matched, hand patina.

CHALLENGE #3
..."the boys in the band"..

a favorite print to feature the band members signatures and LOGO..
how about the LOGO etched in the glass??

DONE.

oh, and an "ooops" with the metallic signing pen ?
NO PROBLEM. custom cut matboard musical notes

good job, girl
