Baseball Knowledge

Its baseball season, and we've had the privilege of framing a baseball for Will Smith, a pitcher for the Pittsburg Pirates. This is an interesting take on how to frame a baseball.

We start with a circle cut out of a suede mat! Just the beginning...

Lets add a baseball. But it needs a base to rest in, right?

Next step we get creative.

Put it all together with a shadowbox frame.

Beautiful and Interesting!
Ever wonder how major-league baseballs are manufactured? Find out by checking out this 5 min. episode of the Discovery Channel's "How It's Made" television series. Click the link below.

Fine Lines Gallery Welcomes Peter Tudhope

Newnan has recently established an Artist-in-Residence program and has restored Gray cottage in historic downtown for the creative guests to reside while participating in the program. This gives the artist a place to live within the community. This program gives the artist a change in environment and an opportunity to get to know a new town . It offers inspiration to the artist, allowing them to create new works in a new surrounding, while benefiting the community.

Fine Lines would like to introduce
our viewers to Peter Tudhope, Newnan's first artist-in-residence. Peter is from Scotland and arrived in September. His works are generally Scottish and Irish landscapes created in oil on canvas. In addition, Peter works in charcoal and pastel. While visiting Newnan, he has contributed to the community with several workshops and demos for students and the public. Peter's works are available for viewing and for sale at Fine Lines Gallery. He has created beautiful works of local architecture and landscapes alike. Come by and see us, we would love to introduce you to Peter's art!

Fine Lines, Millie Gosch, and the Fall Art Walk

It's that time of year when we are gearing up for fall and seasonal activities. Please join us tonight, Friday, Sept. 18th, 5-9pm in downtown Newnan for the yearly Fall Art Walk. Stroll downtown while enjoying local artists and refreshments. Free to the public.
New to our gallery... Fine Lines Art & Framing brings you art by Millie Gosch! Millie has graciously joined our gallery and we are thankful to have her on board with us!
Check out her website at www.milliegosch.com

I love to paint from life and I love to be outdoors, so naturally painting en plein air is a good fit for my art. During the spring and fall, I spend a lot of time painting field studies. From those studies, I paint larger pieces in the studio. I don’t use photographs at all. I paint what I know, and what I love is nature. My favorite subjects are big open fields, sunrises, sunsets, trees, the lowcountry, and the southland. I use a limited palette of primary colors. In my work I strive to bring my viewer into the painting and let them make it their own experience.

This is only a few of her pieces of beautiful art you can view in our gallery. Come by for more. Looking forward to seeing you here and thanks for visiting! Celia
